It tells the story of  two Jewish sisters, Toni and Rosi Grunschlag.  They lived, practised and performed together as professional pianists at two pianos, and depended on each other for nearly 80 years.  Music has been their love and their strength.  They were born and brought up in Vienna.  It was through music that they were able to escape the Nazis together in 1939, for these are lives which might not have been.  It was through music that they found a brief haven in England.  After they were reunited with their parents in New York it was in music they made their career.

The film uses footage shot with the sisters in New York, Cape Cod, Vienna and England, together with archive, home movies and interviews to capture their indomitable characters and bring their story to the world.
